choosing faith over fear

It's been a while. There is good reason for that. In September I took on the exciting challenge of helping a novice to the specialty pet care industry open their first dog facility. It's been a fun roller coaster. I've gotten to see where some pain points that I often consult owners with more into the development of the business (after the fact) actually started- and hopefully have helped/am helping to mitigate and avoid those same common issues. I think many of the challenges are common to opening any new business but some of them- some of them are very unique to the pet care industry. My goal from the get go has always been to protect the business-not the bottom line- because I know if I choose to protect the people within the walls-and the business itself- the bottom line will take care of itself. However, that's easy for me to say right? It's not my life on the line. It's not my investment. It IS my heart, because I treat each new business like an adopted child, even if I didn't birth them I choose to own it for them.
