Creating Training protocols that WORK

I am often reminded of the importance of having a curriculum in place that supports the new employee as well as the business. If you think you don't need a set in stone black and white training curriculum you are mistaken. A curriculum allows the student to know what to expect, to feel as though their training is thorough and has been well thought out. It also gives you a fallback should that employee make a mistake at some point in the future. You can reference the training that both they and their trainer signed off on. This is not an area where you want to skimp or gloss over. Training curriculum should include a day by day breakdown, approximate times for completion and set materials that are easily used/accessible(videos, written materials etc). It should also include knowledge checks and tests. This ensures comprehension. Developing a training program is an arduous task but one that will be worth its weight in gold. This is an absolute fundamental of any business but is especially important if you are looking to scale your business.
